PSA: World of Warcraft Forever (Beta) Performance Fixes and Outlook for Mac Offline Issue

Two issues have been brought to our attention. One has a fix and one does not. The World of Warcraft Forever Beta went live yesterday. While it’s not GA nor is it entirely new code, there are some default settings which Blizzard screwed the pooch on or did not have an adequate assortment of x86 architectures on hand prior to pushing it out. The initial issue for this product stems from a default setting which is locking the framerate. In the Graphics Options, unchecking the box which targets 30 fps will restore significant performance and enable boosting the graphical details. The second issue involves hitching every 5-15 seconds. The character will move, the screen will freeze and pause for 1-2 seconds, and then movement will continue for a short period of time. This was encountered repeatedly on a system using an Intel Core Ultra 270K Plus processor. Disabling the multithreaded option deep within the graphics settings will correct this behavior at the expense of increased network latency.

Outlook for Mac v 16.113 is the second Microsoft screw-up within the past 48 hours. Updating from a prior release to the latest version will trigger a permanent Offline status. Attempts to go online will present a cash grab. Reverting to v 16.112.4 is the current workaround.
