We’ve officially unboxed the EOS M50 and have begun getting familiar with operations on the camera. Our previous post related to a creative workaround for the current webcam shortages addressed the use case in a very cost-effective manner. The fine folks at Canon have released some beta software for those that want to up their webcam game. The EOS Webcam Utility, which is currently in beta, will enable the pinnacle of streaming fidelity for a myriad of EOS DSLR and mirrorless cameras along with some recent Powershot series cameras. The Windows-only software can be downloaded for use with videoconferencing and streaming solutions. Repeated responses from customer support have stated that a Mac variant is in the works. A test may be coming in the future once we have the new physical workspaces properly configured.
